The app works properly on a phone and a tablet now. Navigation moves to a bar
along the bottom on a phone, tables and forms reflow rather than running off the
edge, and the things you tap are sized for a thumb. Tablets keep the sidebar, and
on Build the people panel behaves as an ordinary sidebar rather than covering
the board.
Search also takes several terms at once. Type one, press Enter, type another, and
you get everything matching either, with each term sitting in the box as a chip you
can edit. Terms live in the address bar, so a search you have built up can be
shared or bookmarked.
Three fixes around permissions and hours. Saving a role now keeps the modules it
already had. A deliverable's Time tab scopes to that deliverable and everything
under it, so the total at the top and the list below it cover the same work. And
locking a role out of editing dates holds on the planning chart, not just in the
drawer.
One change to know about because nothing on screen explains it: Planning hides
groups until you turn on Show groups in the toolbar, and that includes the
planning groups you built yourself. Tagging a phase in a grouped view also keeps it
on the board now.
New
A pass over the whole app for small screens, aimed at phones and tablets. Desktop
is left as it was.
On a phone the navigation moves to a bar along the bottom, with Build in the
middle, and More opens the rest. Tables, drawers and forms reflow instead of
running off the edge of the screen, and the things you tap are sized for a thumb
rather than a mouse pointer. Tablets keep the sidebar.
On Build, the people panel behaves as an ordinary sidebar on a tablet rather
than covering the board, which is the layout most shop floor tablets actually want.
New
Search now takes more than one term. Type one, press Enter, type another, and you
get everything matching either of them, each term sitting in the search box as a
chip you can edit or remove.
Looking for three panel numbers used to mean three searches and three lots of
reading, or giving up and scrolling. One search now covers them.
Terms live in the address bar, so a search you have built up can be sent to
somebody or bookmarked, and the back button steps through what you searched rather
than leaving the page. It works on Planning, Build, Projects, Roles, Overheads,
organisation members, locations, system logs, dashboards and entries.
Maintenance
Saving a role keeps the modules it already had. Where a module has gained a
requirement since that role was last saved, the editor fills the requirement in
rather than switching the module off.
Maintenance
A deliverable's Time tab scopes to that deliverable and everything under it.
The total at the top and the list below it cover the same work, and so does the
export taken from that list.
The standalone Timesheets page is unchanged: it stays a register for one shop and
one pay cycle.
Maintenance
Locking a role out of editing start and end dates holds on the planning chart as
well as in the drawer. Dragging or resizing a bar is refused, and so are inline
date edits in the planning table.
The move is refused outright rather than partly applied, because a schedule change
cascades to whatever depends on it.
New
Planning has a new Show groups toggle in the toolbar, and it starts off. If
your groups were on the board yesterday and are not today, that toggle is where
they went.
This is worth saying plainly, because nothing on the board explains their absence.
The toggle hides every group, including the planning groups you built by hand, not
just the delivery groups it was introduced for. Turn it on and they are all back
where they were.
With groups showing, the Group Type filter narrows which kinds appear. It no
longer preselects anything, so by default you see all of them, and its chip is
hidden while groups are off because it cannot do anything there.
Maintenance
In Planning with grouping turned on, adding a tag to a phase leaves the phase
where it is, in every grouping.
Before this, tagging a phase could remove it from the grouped table while the
chart beside it still showed it. Any phase this happened to is back.
Maintenance
Stages you have archived no longer appear on Build, on the order cards or in
the list, and cannot be assigned crew. Planning leaves them out of its flat and
grouped views too.
An order whose stages are all archived still appears with its count intact.
Maintenance
Naming a phase on a route offers the phases you already have, and matching ignores
case, so typing bim finds BIM rather than adding a second one beside it. That keeps
planning groups, dashboard figures and phase colours reading as one phase.
You can still create a phase that does not exist yet: type the new name and it is
added to the library when you save. Nothing is written until you press Save, and a
saved phase cannot have its name swapped out from under the work booked to it.
Maintenance
Grouping Planning by people shows a row for everyone in your filter, whichever way
the group is sorted.
Before this, some selected names could be left out of the rows. Grouping by tags
and by phase behave the same way now.
Improved
The other half of the planning smoothness work, this time the table rather than the
chart. Scrolling, expanding a row and editing a cell no longer stutter on a large
plan.
Clicks near the right edge of a date cell also land on the cell you aimed at, and
the table no longer scrolls wider than its contents.
Maintenance
The parent and child indent follows the Name column, so you can order your
columns however you like and still read the shape of the order.
Before this, moving Name out of first position flattened the hierarchy. This
applies to every nested table in the app, not only Planning.
Maintenance
On a captured location for a delivery, the link now reads Open delivery and
opens that delivery, for anyone whose role allows it.
Before this it opened the group of phases riding on the truck. Where deliveries are
not turned on, or the role cannot read them, it opens the deliverable as before.
Maintenance
The check-in drawer holds back check-out warnings while any of a worker's sessions
is still open, so somebody on the clock is not marked as having left before their
shift ended.
